Waiting on Parts...SUCKS

We are all beginning to experience the advance of fall. Some parts of our country is experiencing SNOW in the higher elevations! My brother drives truck, he called to say he will be attaching chains to the wheels and driving west on I-70  overnight.  It's cold in Colorado I guess.

But I don't live in Colorado. I'm in North East Tennessee and the weather dude is predicting the best weather we've seen since early spring!  I'm pissing oil from the lifter block.  A crack has developed. I believed the problem was a pinched O-Ring...how wrong could I be?  Long story short? They don't have the part for my 17 year old Sportster.  Of course this is a holiday weekend. They will have my bike much too long. I'm bummed.  No riding... No cool photos .... this is all I have.

  1. Sorry to hear this... Once it's fixed, you'll just have to make up for it with an extra long ride :) Plenty of good weekend still to come this fall!! Keep that head up

  2. Timing couldn't have been worse!! Sorry about the Sporty being parked. That just sucks... no other way to express it.

I'll say a prayer to the shipping Gods that they bless you with speedy service.

  3. Hey hope the part arrives soon for you but you will still have many days of riding ahead of you this Fall hon so dont fret. I still cant ride as my right hand is not strong enough for the grip and lever (I tried it this week....lol). Final visit with my surgeon on the 30th this month.

  5. Oh that really just stinks, and on a nice long weekend too. I have to wonder if the bike shop over torqued the bolt but here is no way of telling and then I think, perhaps there is a reason you weren't supposed to be on the road this weekend and the road gods are looking out for you.

  6. Not good at all. The riding season is short enough as is without that happening. Hope you're back on the road soon!
